Can science ever account for human phenomenal conscious experience, qualia, sentience, "hard problem", etc...?

Scientific paradigms -- I've been quite fascinated with the work of Candace Pert, neuroscientist & psychopharmacologist ... best known as the co-discoverer of the "pleasure"/opiate receptor ... also known for her leading-edge theories on neuropeptides, consciousness & reality... But you have so many qualifiers on which ideas you find acceptable, I'm not sure if she would p your tests.
