No, its a criticism leveed by people who know music by a technical measure not an emotional one. It makes certain people feel superior to the mes who are enthralled by his music, they are not they are just pretenders. I feel the same way about people who criticize the second Viennese school or Phillip Gl, just pretenders too shallow too feel.
