Is a landlord required to fix a bad driveway and backyard?
Our driveway is concrete the width of tires with gr in the center, just to give u an idea of what kind of driveway it is. The concrete is crumbling in places, some of it is hooved up other parts of it are sunk down, it was a giant sheet of ice here a couple weeks ago and has been most of the winter. Where its sunken in the rain collects and makes a mudhole. Its really ugly. The gutter leakes onto part of it thats hooved up and I slipped on ice and fell getting a giant bump the length of my hand on my head. Then theres the backyard, hardly any gr, holes from previous renters dogs, complete muddy mess my kids cant even play out there they sink into mud.Theres 2 trees that shade the yard , they desperately need trimmed, no gr even grows in the summer and the branches are hanging all over the line running through the yard.Is he required to fix these things or would they be considered only cosmetic problems? The rent here isint cheap. When we moved in here it was dirty I had to wipe out the cabinets, scrub the floors wipe the woodwork and im still sweeping away dog hair from previpus renters dogs, they didnt paint over previous renters kids drawings on the wall or even put on a new clean toilet seat.It wasnt disgusting with garbage around but it just wasnt what I was expecting , there are some other problems as well but I will save those for anotjer post. Please someone that knows about this kind of thing help!
